East Anglia Cup Clash 2006 Review…

Five big sounds from the South-East of England entered this competition, which started back in 1990 promoted by Micky. This event usual take place every three / four years, the last three cup clash were won by Missile, which meant Missile were going for there fourth win in a row. It was a no show for TK Sound after been put down for playing too many splice tunes, Ghetto Genius turned up but didn’t play ‘what’s new’ blaming the lack of funds from the promoter, despite all of that the clash still went ahead with Missile & Sovereign leading the way playing some real quality dub-plates, Too Tall put up a good challenge but were clearly out of there depth, but did well on there home ground.

Missile & Sovereign went into the one fi one first to reach five will take the cup, Sovereign lead the way leading 4-1 but Missile came back very strong levelling the score 4-4, who wins the next round will be crowd champions, Missile played KING KONG ‘Step pon me corn ‘ Dj Skully from Sovereign came in and dis respect the king Kong dub plate, staying that he is going to play a better King Kong dub which got everyone’s attention, this was the moment that Sovereign should of won the East Anglia Cup for the first time but it all went wrong when Skully played the wrong dub, Sovereign played Nitty Kutchie ‘Big Gun We Bust’ on Kouchie riddim ‘ which received a big BOO mainly because of the speech he made about playing a better King Kong also Missile had or ready played the Nitty Kutchie dub in there third round. The final result was that Missile won the East Anglian Cup for the fourth time in a row, many thanks goes out to all sound clash fans….
