Review: Missile’s annual May day event lived up to it’s legendary name “ENERGY” This event was dedicated to all the original 90′s crew that use to rave hard in venues around Ipswich such as Trader Jacks, L’apres, The Attic, ICA Club & Hollywood’s and wish they could go back to the 90′s… with the well known phrases such as, “rewind selecta & come again” & “Bow Selecta” that will never die out. DJ Earl & DJ Quilla commenced the night of with some classic silky 90′s R’n’B grooves wetting the appetites of the early ravers onto the dance floor showing that they are really there to party, after that segment had finished it was time for the crème de la crème the special guest “Rampage”who started his set with some 90′s bashment in his signature mixing style with some added 90′s R’n’B, soulful garage & some jungle tracks which had the ladies bubbling like soup in the pot and the men skanking like crazy with the jungle set. Up next was Missile’s very own selector Skippa J who wasted no time as he went in hard with the dancehall/bashment selections, using his unique dancehall mic talking skills he had the Malthouse rocking and responding to every catch phrase he used in true stage show style as he used every inch of the large stage for his performance. As the clock struck 2am DJ Notorious Echo hit the decks with more old skool garage and 90’s RnB & old skool garage maintaining the hype and vibe of the event keeping the crowd on the dancefloor. The last set of the night was played by Skippa J dropping more bashment and reggae gems featuring some of missile exclusive dub plates which was well received and appreciated by the crowd, it was a good look witnessing so many people staying until the end ’4am’ with many giving Skippa J a big round of applause after giving thanks and respect to everyone for coming explaining to them how important it was to carry on supporting the Malt house because it is one of the only venues in Ipswich where you can bring you own sound system and roll and turn up the base line all night long until 4am.
Missile Sound would like to thank you all for your continue support and hope to see you all at another one of our fourth coming events.
